Screening of dry and snap bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) genotypes for resistance to Bean common mosaic virus and Bean common mosaic necrosis virus

چکیده

The most effective control of Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) and necrosis (BCMNV) is achieved by using the seeds resistant cultivars. During conventional breeding, resistance against BCMV BCMNV in bean can be developed pyramiding strain-nonspecific dominant I gene with strain-specific recessive (bc-) genes for long-term control. In this study, a total 58 genotypes involving registered green dry cultivars, local genotypes, breeding lines were tested presence known genes. First all, each genotype was inoculated NL-3 strain NL-4 separately, plants evaluated symptom appearance DAS-ELISA to confirm or absence after three weeks sap-inoculation. last part investigated SCAR markers SW-13 linked SBD-5 bc-12. According phenotypic molecular tests, out tested, 37 involved gene, seven contained bc-22 bc-12 genes, respectively.

RNAi-mediated resistance to Bean golden mosaic virus in genetically engineered common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris).

Bean golden mosaic virus (BGMV) is transmitted by the whitefly Bemisia tabaci in a persistent, circulative manner, causing the golden mosaic of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). The characteristic symptoms are yellow-green mosaic of leaves, stunted growth, or distorted pods. The disease is the largest constraint to bean production in Latin America and causes severe yield losses (40 to 100%)....

Biplot Analysis for Evaluation of Tolerance in Some Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) Genotypes to Bean Common Mosaic Virus (BCMV)

The common bean is the most important grain legume for direct human consumption in the world and BCMV is one of the world's most serious bean diseases that can reduce yield and quality of harvested product. To determine the best tolerance index to BCMV and recognize tolerant genotypes, 2 experiments were conducted in field conditions. Twenty five common bean genotypes were sown in 2 separate RC...

NL-3 K Strain Is a Stable and Naturally Occurring Interspecific Recombinant Derived from Bean common mosaic necrosis virus and Bean common mosaic virus.

ABSTRACT A strain of Bean common mosaic necrosis virus (BCMNV) from Idaho was identified by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay using monoclonal antibodies and determined to be similar to the NL-3 D strain (of Drifjhout) by reaction of differential bean cultivars. However, this BCMNV strain (designated NL-3 K) caused earlier and more severe symptoms on bean plants representing host groups 0, 4, a...
